Rock Island Grand Prix

Every Labor Day weekend, the District of Rock Island turns into a race course, complete with thousands of screaming and cheering fans lining the course.

The racers drive Karts that reach speeds of over 60 miles per hour as they race throughout the downtown. The Rock Island Grand Prix is an independent event, and it draws nearly 400 racers from throughout the US and Canada. It has even drawn racers from as far away as Italy, France, Bermuda, Colombia and Mexico. With a minimum purse of $25,000.00 it is well worth the trip.
